For those who are planning to attend the Open Portfolio event at the Denver Botanic Gardens this Saturday, admittance to the gardens and the open portfolio event may be limited. This is due to the fact that Saturday is a free day at the gardens, and the Denver Botanic Gardens have strict capacity numbers for safety reasons.

The Botanic Gardens have agreed to set aside a limited number of entries for Month of Printmaking – just mention this at the front desk when you enter. It is best to show up early, as they cannot guarantee admission after the quota has been reached. You may enter at the regular visitor center, or the new Freyer-Newman center on York St. closer to 11th.

If you do show up and are denied entry, we deeply apologize. Rest assured we are doing everything we can to make sure our people can come to the event.

Also, plan ahead for parking issues, you may have to find a spot further away in the neighborhood and walk a few blocks.

For Open Portfolio participating artists: this won't affect your participation, as the capacity set by the gardens already has participants in mind.

Participation in the 2024 Mo’Print Open Portfolio event at the Denver Botanic Gardens is full, with 78 registered print artists.

The Open Portfolio session is a great way to see prints from many artists ranging from young artists currently in school and learning varied processes to older established artists with gallery representation.

The Open Portfolio is for displaying prints (etching, relief, litho, screenprint, etc.). Not general "works on paper," (drawing, collage, watercolor, etc.)

  • 10am — “Get Started Collecting Prints” with Maxwell Roath

  • 11am — Kathryn Polk lecture

  • Noon-2pm — “Papermaking with Plants” drop-in hands-on activity with Rhiannon Alpers

  • 2pm — “Get Started Collecting Prints” with Maxwell Roath
